Final Project

Living in this generation definitely has its pro's and con's. However, the inspiration for my final project sprung from one of the con's. To explain, I'll tell you how this idea came to me. I was in my apartment, using the restroom, when I noticed that my husband had his helicopter magazine next to the toilet (he had obviously been reading it last time he was on the toilet). I thought to myself," Oh, I should move that so that guests that come to my apartment don't see it." When I thought that, I immediately felt silly.

Why would I be embarrassed if people discovered that my husband reads on the toilet? Why do I feel the need to hide it? Then I thought of all the other things in my life that I am embarrassed about and how silly the whole notion of embarrassement is. The way that society has made me feel about common bodily functions and everyday occurences is kind of sad. My project is meant to highlight the scenes that society has deamed "embarrassing." I found that these scenes have a common theme that they usually are not purposefully done, yet society judges them as intentional things.

My theory is that people spend too much time worrying about what other people think that they go about life hiding who they really are. Life is too short to hide and always worry about judgement. Embrace life and all its silly little things. So here it is:
